There is no such thing as ‘my’ Awareness, just Awareness which is non-local.
We all have a built-in reference point – the conditioned ‘I’ and its repeated use makes it a very strong habit which takes charge of meaning making, decision making, experiencing, doing, thinking, feeling.
Because of its comprehensive oversight, we have forgotten what lies beyond the conditioned ‘I’ or what undergirds it, which is Awareness and Consciousness.
This conditioned ‘I’ cannot but be limited even though it appears to have comprehensive and exclusive coverage.
When the conditioned ‘I’ is deconstructed, whether intellectually or spontaneously, the all-seeing Awareness may be experienced.
The experiences of the conditioned ‘I’ are always subjectively chosen and interpreted.
Collective consciousness is shared habits some of which are more deeply embedded such as the perception of shape and form and colour. Others, which are relatively less deeply embedded are social and cultural preferences such as certain mannerisms and protocols of tradition, food preferences and morals.
It’s misleading to think of going ‘within’ to experience truth if by ‘within’, we mean inside our physical self or even what we typically regard as our mental self or mind. Truth is found ‘within’ everything, not just inside my head or body. The body does provide an apparatus that can help us relocate our attention from the superficial reality that we are conditioned to perceive to the deeper reality that we have forgotten how to see. But we must realize that the deeper reality is everywhere and within everything and that everything is within it. And when we ‘get there’, we will find that WE ARE the deeper reality.
