Life is funny. And wonderful and frustrating and screwy and exhilarating and depressing and numbing and sweet and morbid and enchanting and terrifying…
But as T S Elliot said, after all our exploration, we shall arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.
Yes, we will come full circle to look again at what seems familiar but see it with completely new eyes.
And so for me, my lifelong lament…well, it was for several decades, was:
Why me?
Why is this happening to me?
Why is it not happening for me?
Why can’t I have what I want?
So, I was taken (by my subconscious self) on this journey, kicking and screaming, judging, blaming, cursing, despairing…in between all-too-brief episodes of incredible joy, hope, insight, abandon, fullness, freedom…
Wondering how and why I seemed to ‘have it’ sometimes but lose it most times…
Until I have now come to realize that…guess what…and it’s a right clanger…
Brace yourselves…
You might come crashing down…
Briefly…
And then…
You’ll start ascending…
Lifting off…
Floating…
Smiling…
Grinning…
Trembling…
Shaking all that crap that you’ve been carrying around all this time…
When you realize finally…
That…
IT’S
NOT
ABOUT
YOU
There, I’ve given you Life’s greatest secret.
IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU!!!
Repeat that to yourself a million times. And a million times more.
IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU.
It’s not about you. At least, not the ‘you’ you identify as i.e. the body-mind you, the personal you, the historical, professional, cultural, contextual you. That ‘you’ is just the instrument, the form that the real, infinite, impersonal, non-historical, non-contextual, unbounded You takes.
Yes, the form. The instrument. The vessel. The channel. The tool. The form.
And the cleaner and clearer you keep this instrument, this vessel, this channel, the more powerfully and freely and fully and creatively LIFE flows IN, AS and THROUGH you.
It’s not about you.
It’s about LIFE – the real you. Or you can call it God, Love, Source, Spirit, Universe, Infinite Intelligence, Brahman, the Dao…
LIFE expressing itself in, as and through you.
There is only LIFE, LOVE, GOD…
Every spiritual tradition, every Enlightened being knows this.
And once you are willing to see the truth of this, the unwinnable duel between Ego and itself (pretending to be you) can finally end. Or at least scale down dramatically.
Then, you’ll experience the joy, the power, the peace, the creative energy, the love…that you were led to believe you had to win through struggle, effortlessly!
My wish, my desire, my work is to help others realize this truth sooner rather than later.
Why suffer when you absolutely do not need to once you give yourself permission to experience this Truth?
IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU.

CALL TO ACTION
Do one thing today as if you were an instrument of Love expressing one quality of your choice, eg wisdom. To do this, you have to be present and let your intuition rather than learning guide you.
